AgroShield, LLC
A Louisiana based company that was formed for the principle purpose of developing its proprietary polymer based technology (“AgroShield”) for agricultural and health science applications. AgroShield partnered with the University of Southern Mississippi Polymer Institute and North Carolina State University to develop the technology. AgroShield successfully raised its “seed” capital financing and is presently raising capital for further development and commercialization. The Egg Factory, LLC
An organization that creates, develops and then manages transformational technologies, products and business models from ideas through market entry. The Company has a proven ability to recognize and develop significant opportunities while in their embryonic concept state and then develops them into commercial applications through management and scientific teams that patent, develop and deliver proof of concept. Joel is a founding member of the Company, provides ongoing advice and services in connection with the company’s financing and other strategic activities and previously served on its Board of Managers. Encore Vision, Inc.
This Company develops products and procedures for the treatment and prevention of presbyopia and has a significant portfolio of intellectual property. Joel advises the Company on its strategic and financing activities as well as the development of its commercialization model.
e-Vision LLC
Joel is the President and Chairman of the Board of Managers of e-Vision LLC, (e-Vision Optics) a company whose activities are based on its proprietary technology which is intended to provide a lens system that adjust its focusing power electronically, in milliseconds, without any moving parts to various working needs and/or environments. The lenses would automatically change their focusing power to let users focus on nearby objects (pages of a book) or faraway objects (sign on a highway). With respect to electro-active and static spectacle lens applications, e-Vision has licensed its technology to PixelOptics, Inc. (www.mitsuichem.com) , which is commercializing the spectacle lens applications, licensing is also available for other markets. E-Vision is also working with other strategic partners to develop further its technology for applications involving ophthalmic medical devices, consumer products, as well as solar concentrators (see also in this Section, Solbeam, Inc.). Family Office Services
Joel provides comprehensive asset management, financial and fiduciary services to several generations of a "Family Office" in New York and Florida. He actively manages the family's investment advisors in connection with a broad array of investment options, including: direct investments, private equity, offshore investments, and both US and non-US Securities. He has successfully implemented tax and estate planning strategies to efficiently transfer Family assets to the next generation and he serves as a fiduciary in many capacities.
High Performance Optics, Inc.
An ophthalmic company that uses a proprietary light filtering technology to significantly reduce high-energy visible light (HEVL), often referred to as blue/violet, to reduce a major modifiable risk factor for the leading cause of blindness, Age Related Macular Degeneration (“AMD”) and improve vision performance through improved contrast sensitivity. The Company’s technology provides for a unique balance of retinal protection and improved vision. The Company continues to develop its technology for use in certain ophthalmic devices. Northside Center for Child Development, Inc.
A community mental health agency and therapeutic early childhood center, providing a broad range of clinical and educational services for children who are experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties, or who have learning disabilities. These services are directed toward improving the children's self-esteem, mental health and scholastic achievement. The largest provider of decorative accessories, furniture and party event supplies in New York to the television, film, photography and related arts industries. Solbeam, Inc.
This Company has a proprietary approach to photovoltaic concentrator (PVC) technology, which does away with conventional tracking system, that have, until now, been required for all other PVC systems.
